Mr. Makihara, a director since April 1, 2005, is currently the Chairman of Neoteny Co., Ltd., an early stage venture investment firm in Japan. From 1981 to 2000, Mr. Makihara was with Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he served in various capacities, including as a Managing Director in New York in Investment Banking from 1998 to 2000, as a Managing Director in Tokyo as co-head of Equities and co-branch manager from 1995 to 1998 and as co-head of Investment Banking in Tokyo from 1992 to 1995. Mr. Makihara is a director of Global-Dining, Inc.
Mr. Makihara has an A.B. from Harvard College in Economics and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
